This worked for me too, however I have to do it at least once a week. I cleared cache and then restarted android text not downloading phone. Worked after that! One of the last ones i got took about 12 hours to download. I tried the clear cashe because my husband said clear data will delete all my messages. After that is worked. Finally someone knows how to help! The app may be corrupt. You can rollback the app to factory in settings application manager. We solved this problem with these steps. Comments I need to find messages that are downloaded. Clear data will not delete messages. I did this and I did get garbled images. This fixes the problem for me but then it just happens again in a day or so. Is there a permanent fix? Thanks in advance! How about for text messages? Not using messenger, so this work around is inapplicaple. Same problem with Nexus 5x. Any other ideas? Did this help?
